A Valentine’s Smoothie Recipe by Cherished Roots
When it comes to the sweetheart holiday, there is no shortage of not-so-healthy treats. Take a break from the box of chocolates this year and enjoy this sweet yet nutritious smoothie recipe.
1/2 small raw beet, diced
1 cup frozen raspberries
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 small banana
2 cups unsweetened almond milk
1-2 tablespoons raw honey to taste
1 scoop collagen peptides (optional)
1 tablespoon dark chocolate chips
1 tablespoon unsweetened shredded coconut, toasted
Blend the beet, berries, banana, avocado, honey, collagen and almond milk until smooth. Divide between two glasses and garnish with the chocolate chips and toasted coconut.
